Two Suites. Your Choice.

Stay in "The Edge", the lower level of the main home of your host, Pastor Roger Dieterle.

Or stay in "The Crossing", an upper level suite that is near, but separate from, the main house.  Reserve and enjoy either space as available year-round. Ask about weekly rates.

Getting to Know You

Getting Here

Spirit of the Badlands is just 10 minutes southwest of Medora, North Dakota.  We're 25 miles west of Belfield, North Dakota, via Interstate 94.  Avoid using GPS as it will take you to another site.

If approaching Medora from
the east via I-94:
  1. Continue past the first exit to Medora to Exit #23 (W. River Rd.)

  2. Turn left at the exit stop sign. Drive 1/2 mile on paved road under I-94.

  3. Turn left on the gravel road at the railroad crossing sign.

  4. Drive 3 miles south on the gravel road. Immediately past the 36th St. sign, you will cross a cattle guard and see a potbellied stove with a black mailbox numbered 3606. Take a left and proceed up the hill .6 miles.

If approaching Medora from the west via I-94:

  1. Take Exit 24 east. Turn left at stop sign to get on I-94 west.

  2. Take I-94 west 1 mile to Exit 23. Follow instruction 1-4 above.
